No. The Church of Night is the public-facing, Outer Court, where all people are granted access to The Church of Night website and Discord server and are free to learn and exchange ideas. More serious seekers may apply for recognized membership to The Order, the Inner Circle, if they wish to receive deeper knowledge through a degreed system.
2. What sets The Order apart from other occult orders?
The Order distinguishes itself through a profound understanding of the Universe, emphasizing the necessity of sacrifice for self actualization. Unlike other orders, The Order delves into the practical applications of occult knowledge rooted in Reality, demystifying the concept of "magic," preferring to establish itself and its teachings in terms of High Science.

The concept of sacrifice in our Order is not to be mistaken for ritualistic theatrics or human sacrifice, but a deep acknowledgment of the sacrifice required for transformation. Initiates explore the tangible and symbolic aspects of sacrifice as a means to resonate with the cosmic forces and facilitate self-actualization.

Rituals within The Order are not mere symbolic acts; they are potent engagements with cosmic forces. Each ritual carries significance, resonating with the order's principles and contributing to the energy required for transformation.
5. Is The Order affiliated with any specific religious or spiritual beliefs?
No. The Order is not bound to any specific religious doctrine, although it is governed by the Church of Night. We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds and beliefs who resonate with the principles, core values, and tenets of The Order.
6. How can I become a formal member, and what is the initiation process like?
To become a full Member, express your interest in joining in The Order. The initiation process involves an introduction to The Order's principles, discussions with current members, and a commitment to uphold the values of The Order.
7. Are there age restrictions for joining The Order?
Yes. All members must confirm they are 18 years of age or older upon joining. This ensures a mature and responsible environment within The Order.
8. What resources and materials does The Order provide to its members?
The Order offers an Archive with curated resources, recommended readings, and ancient texts to deepen members' understanding of the principles and techniques of The Art. Members utilize Order channels for deep discussion with fellow Members about The Art. All Dues paid to The Order grant access to exclusive events, branded merchandise, and generous discounts through our Partners and financially support The Order's events, charities, and its volunteers.
9. How active is the community, and what channels are available for discussions and engagement?
Our global community is growing, active, and upholds our principle of secrecy. Therefore, not all channels are made public, however, seekers can participate in discussions in Outer Court and regular engagement is encouraged for a fulfilling experience within The Order.
10. How does the Order balance secrecy with openness, and what measures are in place for privacy?
While we uphold the confidentiality of our teachings, we also foster an open environment for discussions. Members are expected to respect The Order's principle of secrecy, and unauthorized recording of conversations or unauthorized duplication and/or plagiarism of written material is strictly prohibited to ensure privacy and security.
11. Is The Order a cult?
The Order is not a cult. Members are free to come and go as they please as long as they leave The Order in Good Standing. There are no beliefs or demands imposed on Members outside of adherence to the Membership Agreement and swearing to uphold The Order's principles, tenets, and core values.
12. Is The Order Luciferian or Satanic?
No. The Order does not claim to be Satanic or Luciferian, nor does is it officially affiliated or associated with Satanic or Luciferian organizations. Likewise, The Order is not anti-Christian. And while The Order utilizes certain symbolic imagery that could be perceived as Gnostic or Satanic and holds in high regard organizations such as the TST, The Order remains firm in its stance of being unaffiliated with such organizations and open to all who agree to uphold the principles, tenets, and values of The Order.
13. Is The Order a magical order?
The Order is an internal fellowship of the Church of Night steeped in the mysteries and knowledge of the ancient mystery schools, which were the premier mystical schools of our collective and ancient past. However, The Order makes the distinction between magic and high science, which if understood properly, are not equivalents in their methods or their results.
14. I am a Thelemite, Freemason, Christian, Wiccan, Witch, Buddhist, Druid, etc., can I join The Order?
Yes. The Order does not require members to be of one particular religion so long as they do not interfere or infringe upon the rights and operations of The Church or The Order nor does it impose one on its Members. Higher degree Members are encouraged to dedicate most of their organizational time to The Church and The Order due to the responsibilities that are inherent with higher degrees.
15. Does The Order teach baneful magic or black magic?
Black magic, referenced as magic that causes harm to others is not the principal goal or aim of The Order. However, due to the nature of Reality and the power inherent within, our teachings may be used for good or evil, as all mystical or scientific teachings may be. The Order does not teach our Members ways to cause harm to others, but how to enhance their own lives and the lives of those in their chosen communities.
16. Do I have to be a member to attend an event or Mass?
Except for private rituals and ceremonies or explicitly restricted meetings, all of the activities of The Church are open to all and designed to be ways for seekers to become familiar with the culture and to get acquainted with its Members.
17. Is The Order a religion?
No. The Order is an internal fellowship governed by the Church of Night. It is a society that dedicates itself to the spiritual and material advancement of its Members through the teachings of the ancient mysteries. The Order is an eclectic society discussing a myriad of topics such as meditation, symbolism, psychology, energy, and the diverse personal practices of its Members.
18. Is The Church of Night a tax-exempt, non-profit organization?
Yes. The Church of Night is a 501 (c)(3) designated church. 100% of The Church and The Order's revenue is used solely for the benefit of its members and the budget is available to all members upon request. The benefits of being a church has far reaching benefits to our Members, such as tax-deductible donations. This designation also allows The Order to provide better services and experiences for its Initiates.
